Welcome to the 12th Annual Joshua High School UIL Invitational

Come join the fun at Joshua High School as we invite you to compete in the 12th Annual Joshua High School UIL Invitational to be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Contests will include all UIL academic events, LD Debate, CX Debate, Prose, Poetry, Persuasive and Informative Speaking. Both written and hands on will be offered in Computer Science.

The registration deadline is 11:59 PM on January 16th. We will be using UIL Set "A" Materials. Mathematics, number sense, calculator, and science contests will be divided into 9th/10th and 11th/12th grade divisions for individual awards.

To ensure that the tournament runs smoothly, we will limit the total of entries in all events. Once the contest reaches capacity, the event will close, but a waiting list will be available. Once a waitlist is established in any event, we will look for alternate rooms to use to allow us to re-open the event. Please do not hesitate to register a student on a waitlist as there is a good chance we will be able to get them entered.

A judge is required for Computer Applications and Ready Writing, otherwise a judging fee will be imposed. We are hiring judges for all journalism events.

Please remind your spellers to bring headphones. We have some headphones, but we do not have enough for the number of students that we have registered.

Computer Science Hands On will use flash drives. Hands on will likely take place in a different room from where programming will be due to space requirements.

Registration begins at 7:00 am. Please park buses in the far south parking area in front of Galbreath Gym. A hospitality room will be provided for coaches, graders, and drivers. Breakfast, lunch, & snacks will be served. A concession stand will be available for students to purchase food throughout the day. We will have pizza and Chicken Express in the concession stand around 11:00. There will be a meal deal available for students.
